I hope everyone else is as excited about the fact that it is April as I am. April means planting time and although I’ve had to give up a certain amount of it due to having a bit too much help from Fruity Pebbles, I still look forward to filling pots and window boxes with blooms. It just so happens that April’s first Friday coincides with Good Friday (or God’s Friday), a day that Christians commemorate, but not because it began with joy. In fact, it was a day that stripped the Messiah’s followers of all their joy. At the time, they had no idea what Sunday would bring!

We need a constant reminder to examine our circumstances and count it all joy.

This wooden décor is by Willow Spring. The attached “Joy” word art is raised, giving a 3D effect. It measures 6” X 8” and is a reverse tray design, so it will sit or hang easily. It has wood-finish background on the front while the sides are painted white.

Mix it in with your spring decorations on a shelf and continue to use it with each season that rolls around.

It’s officially August, that month when, here in the Midwest, we all sigh as we plod through it toward tolerable days that we hope to enjoy around the second week of September. Mysteriously, a cool front moved in last night and we are reveling in perfect temperatures, enjoying long sits on the porch and strolls around the neighborhood. Strange, but nobody’s complaining. Sometime next week, August will decide to show us what it’s really made of.
