  1. I knew Gladys Pearl as my husband David’s mother, my mother-in-law, grandmother to our three sons John David Welch, Christopher Alan Welch and Timothy Layne Welch and the wife of JD Welch, Jr. She always had lots of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls and tea for our Saturday evening meal. Or course there was always a desert of some sort ummm to good! Mam Maw (as we called her) to the very best of her ability raised 5 sons, David, Johnnie, Tommy and Richard and Robert. The household was always loud and something was always stirring. So many things I remember little did I know then what I know now about Gladys Pearl. The story you have shared is so funny! Another memory we can add to the ones we already have. Thanks for sharing!!

    1. She was a sweet aunt to me. My favorite memories of her are of how happy it made her and my mom to be together. They became like little schoolgirls again each time they got to visit. There were way to many miles between them.
